Blog #10
The store that i really dislike is abercrobmie and fitch. Ever since i was a little kid, that store was the most popular thing. I finally steped into that store when i was in grammer school and disliked it. To begin, the store is over priced a shirt can range anywhere from thirty to one hundred dollars. Secondly the store, only runs in small sizes. Say if you are a small, you would have to get a medium or a large because the small is fits someone who is an extra small. All there cloths run small, and everything is overpriced. If you want a job there you also have to look a certain way, extra small and very pretty. The cloths in the shop are all the same, preppy an chic. I dont think this store is for me. It is almost as if the store has high expectations on the people that shop there, they have to be perfect and skinny!

The Persuaders Video
The Persuaders video was very interesting. It told me that advertising is all around, wherever we look they put in the term that i got a kick out of. They called it "cockroaches." The first part of the video also stated that the people that are making the advertisement are doing it for their own pleasure, not for the pleasure of the viewers. They want to win awards and be number one in the advertising business. Part 2 is talking about emotional branding. It is talking about how we feel when we see the advertisment. Advertisers are wanting to become the next big thing, and they are doing anything possible to become that, that mean slashing jobs, getting rid of companies that are not making any money. They want to be number one! Its a competition for them. They are saying where the loyalty lies, that is where the money is. It also talks about "love marks" which is an iconic place in your heart once you see an ad that you liked and felt something to it, another words an emotional ad that touched your heart. Part 3 is talking about paying more to experience less. Now-a-days ad agencies are intergrating products into movies and television shows, and its a big hit. In I AM SAM they used starbucks, and in SEX IN THE CITY they used the alcholic beverage absolute, and they created a whole segment for this on the television show. Not only are advertisers advertising their product, but singers are also. They are putting their music in ads to sell their cds. Part four is talking about change, and what the people want, its their secret passion. They have no idea by they buy things, they just buy it. Part 5 is talking about in with the good out with the bad. I thought this video was very interesting, it explained alot. There were many things that i did not no about the advertising company. I loved this video, it was very informating. Someday I hope to be that person that knows everything about the advertising agency.

Blog # 5 RAW
The first RAW exbibit I visited was the one in the Student Center Bookstore. Personally i did not thinkg this was affective, I do not remember seeing RAW anywhere, unless im blind. But there was a stuffed dummer laying on the floor. Maybe he was drunk, passed out or maybe just fell. I have no idea. I thinkd they could have put beer cans all around the person, and maybe mentioned RAW a few times in there showcase. But other than that every time I passed it grabbed my attention, although I had to stop and look at it to see what it meant.
The second RAW exhibit that I visited was the one where they passed out beer cans with information in them about binge drinking. I like the idea all together. But can you have beer cans on campus? When i was there alot of people that were walking by where giving them weird looks that they were passing out empty beer cans. I think they could have done a different approach the beer can idea was good, but it was kinda over the top, maybe that was what they wanted to perceive but I have no idea. I wouldnt change anything about this RAW project.
No, I do not think doing activities like this will raise awareness about bringe drinking, because to be honest more than half the people in this school do not care about what we have to say, they just look at us weird an give us funny looks. People do not pay attention to really anything, they just want to get to class. I think it would raise awareness if maybe it was one a commercial that was consistantly playing like the commercials with the smoking facts.

HP Laptop-Vista
I decided to chose my HP Laptop that features Vista because this is my second laptop like this, and I believe it has done nothing helpful but bring trouble in my life. Especially vista.
When I think of HP I think of
1. Stress
2. Disapointment
3. Cost
4. Viruses
5. Poor Quality
I think this negatively because, like I said earlier this is my second laptop, because the first one I had, would not turn on due to the all the viruses it had. I believe it brought me nothing but trouble and hassel. Last year I spent countless hours at Best Buy trying to get my old laptop fixed.
The 10 things that people think of when they think of HP on brandtags.net is:
1.Apple
2.Bad
3.Boring
4.Broken
5.calculator
6.cheap
7.computer
8.crap
9.expensive
10.sucks
I believe I have pretty much the same perception as other users and other people that have an HP laptop. Many people do not like this product, and I can understand why. It does not satisfy any of my needs, and I wish I never bought this product.

Journalism #2
I choose both of these commercials, because I think they are very catchy and annoying. Some how I just couldnt take my eyes away from it. The first one is the budweiser commercial where all they say is whassup and drinking a beer and watching a game. The second commercial is a mimick of the first one but only it involves milk.
These personally are not my favorate ads, there are alot of commercials out today that are more appealing and funnier. I just wanted to point out that there is alot of competition in the advertisement business, and to mimick another commercial is something you have to do to get your point across-sort of speak.
Personally, this ad did not make me want to buy either the beer or the milk. They really arent selling the product. Although I guess now when I think of Budweiser and Milk, there going to make me think of this commercial. So I guess in turn they got their point across, it is very catchy, and probably will stick with me for a long time.
